We have had an exciting first 8 weeks of school learning how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers. Students have used chips, number lines, linking arms with students that have opposite signs, and sang about the rules. Students recently created videos on how to solve various problems in a Gallery Walk that other students may refer to when they are stuck on a problem. Activities to Try at Home:
· Have your student make flash cards of the different properties of operations. Show them a property and have them write down different examples for that property.
· Use dice or a deck of cards to create different equations for your student to solve.
